For Administrators

Q: What's the process of installing the Gist Gadget for Google Apps?

A: The Gist Gadget is no longer supported - please use Gist for Gmail instead.

Q: How do I uninstall the Gist Gadget?

A: Navigate to your Google Apps for Domains panel, e.g. https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/yourdomain.com/Dashboard, where "yourdomain.com" is replaced by your Google Apps domain.

Click the Gist link, then click Delete Gist on the next page.  This action will remove the Gist Gadget from all users in your Google Apps domain.  These users will still have Gist accounts, but the account will no longer be visible in Google Apps for Domains Gmail.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for Google to remove the Gist Gadget from your Google Apps for Domains email.  In many cases, this occurs more quickly, and this action is controlled by Google.

Q: I've tried to remove the Gist Gadget using the Google Apps for Domains control panel, and it's still there.  What should I do?

A: There may be a delay in removing the Gist Gadget from your Google Apps Domain.  We're actively working on this issue with Google, and it may take as long as 24 hours to remove the gadget completely.  Google has informed us that this lag will improve shortly, and we appreciate your continued patience.

In the meanwhile, please try clearing your browser cache, logging out of your Google Apps for Domains Mail account, and then logging back in again.

For All Users

Q: Can I use the Gist Gadget with any Gmail account?
A:  To use Gist with Gmail (Google Apps or "regular" Gmail), install Gist for Gmail.
